Argentinian DJ and producer Flug joines us this week with his open perspective of his musical past. Nowadays based in Barcelona he travels around the world and dedicates himself to expression through music. When performing on stage, Flug’s sets are ‘as devastating as they are uplifting with his serious kick drums, use of hi-hats and reverberating basslines, but also through driving his own organically produced techno forward.’
On the producing side of things, he has released countless EP’s and remixes on the industries finest labels such as CLR, SOMA, Trip, Drumcode, Rekids, Mord and many more. In 2020 he launched Existentia, his own record label which is centred around ‘the pursuit of a modern sound that conceives a new sonar palette, a characteristic musical landscape that stands out in a totally saturated electronic market. Deep, hard, forceful... but still clean and dirty at the same time’. Just like Marc Houle - who we had on our series recently - Flug also contributed to the new release on SXHWARZWILD recordings.
In Flug’s selection he reveals what he played on his Sony discman, about the time he heard Green Velvet when he was 17 during a blurry, flashy and fuzzy night in Buenos Aires and his connection with ‘the prodigy’ - Ricardo Villalobos.
